Alfonso Giordano is the Managing Director of the ECIA. He is Adjunct Professor of “Sustainable Development and Migratory Flows” and of “Economic Geography” at the LUISS – Free University of Rome, Professor of “World Economic Systems” at the IAD School of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, and Director of the Anna Lindh Chair in Euro-Mediterranean studies at the University of Salerno. He is also international relations responsible at the Italian Geographical Society. He has been affiliate researcher at the Institute of European Studies, Free University of Brussels, in the Research group on “Europe, regionalism and globalisation”. Mr. Giordano worked as scientific expert in the staff of the counsellor for External Relations of the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union and served at the Council of the European Union. He was national expert of the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in the Research group on “Options for the Greater Middle East” coordinated by the Institute for Security Studies of the European Union in Paris.
